6/18/2024 - Had so much fun at Robert Plant and Alison Kraus at Wolf Trap tonight!

Tuesday June 18, 2024:
This show was a long time coming since it was first announced for Summer 2023! But with the terrible code red air quality that day they had to reschedule it to this season! They even added a second night at Wolf Trap but I just stuck with the first one. I planned it out perfectly, picked up dinner online at Souvlakibar just as work was ending for the day and got to Wolf Trap by about 5:30 PM. The parking lot was already filling up! I didn't want to park on the lawn with my allergies. Ate dinner and had my fan going since it was so hot! Finally 7:30 rolled around so I caught a cart up the hill. The opening act was Robert Plant's guitarist so that was a cool connection there. Their set included a Lust for Life cover. I had a good view from the Loge seat although the group behind me was talking loudly most of the night. Robert Plant and Alison Kraus were both great and complimented each other well. Highlights included Rock & Roll, Gallow's Pole, Battle of Evermore, When the Levee Breaks, and Down To The River To Pray. I managed to skip the line at the restroom on the way out and just head back to my car. After waiting only another twenty minutes or so, I managed to sneak out the way towards route 7 home instead of the toll road and it took about the same amount of time getting home! Sucks to have to go solo these days but I'm not missing out on such a great show!!
