After Life |

I saw you one day, you looked ill. Trying to climb up that hill. Looking so empty that you'd never get your fill. And then there was that way you might smile. All the while you never had any style. I was never sure what to say. Why was tomorrow never today? And when would you stop your play? It's never fair for those who stay. Not sure what this is all about. Why we got married with all our doubt. We had our ups, we had our downs. And there was that day with me in my tux and you in your gown. Now all I see around me are frowns. Upsetting as it may be, it'll probably never make any sense to me. I'll eventually shrug it off and continue with my life. Knowing what happened, seeing the end. Never believing you could be my friend.
